Each module has been thoughtfully designed in close consultation with grassroots, WASH practitioners and educators, and accredited professional organisations. We have created a novel and structured curriculum for all.
Module 1
Water Resources and Accessibility
Understand and gain basic knowledge on how water is cascaded to households for consumption. You will be able to appreciate the contingency of water extraction and conveyance.
Module 2
Water Health and Safety
Identify and understand waterborne diseases and common water contaminants in the community. You will be able to appreciate how the environment affects water safety and reliability of water supplies, including after a disaster.
Module 3
Water Sustainability
Understand and gain basic knowledge on the importance of sustainability of a community’s access to clean water and measures to help sustain good water quality. You will also gain a familiarity of national laws and local ordinances related to water sustainability.
Module 4
Sanitation
Identify and understand sanitary and unsanitary practices in households and communities and the role individuals and communities play in improving sanitation practices. You will also gain a familiarity with national laws and local ordinances related to sanitation.
Module 5
Hand Hygiene
Understand the importance of hand hygiene through an emphasis on proper handwashing and other hand hygiene practices. You will gain an understanding of how good handwashing practice prevents the transmission of communicable diseases, particularly in schools.
Module 6
Disinfection and other Hygienic Practices
Understand and gain basic knowledge on various disinfection and hygienic practices in households and communities. You will learn various activities that can be adopted by individuals, households, schools and the wider community to prevent communicable diseases.
